Residential / Commercial Electricians install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in both residential and commercial construction. They ensure all work aligns with job specifications, construction standards, and local electrical codes. Their responsibilities include:
- Installing and troubleshooting residential wiring, service entrance equipment, and risers
- Bending and installing commercial conduits, pulling wire, and properly terminating as needed
- Identifying electrical hazards and properly utilizing electrical safe practices
- Properly utilizing fall protection
- Reading and interpreting electrical prints, symbols, and designs
- Using electrical hand tools appropriately
- Selecting and using power tools and drill bits correctly
- Identifying and using various electrical conduits, fittings, wire sizes, and trim materials
- Using electrical testing and measuring tools accurately

This program provides an accelerated hands-on learning experience that prepares graduates to enter the workforce with the highly sought-after skills and certifications that employers need. - May also be eligible for college credits toward an AS Degree in Construction/Civil Engineering Technology OR an AS Degree in Energy Management & Controls Technology OR an AS Degree in Supervision & Management for Industry
Enrollment Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Proof of High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
- Read, Write, and Comprehend English
