Accelerated Skills Training Application

Carpenters construct, install, and repair structures made from wood and other materials. They work in various construction settings, including residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. Carpenters are responsible for: 

  • Constructing building frameworks, including walls, floors, and roofs 
  • Installing structures and fixtures such as windows, doors, and molding 
  • Measuring, cutting, and shaping wood, metal, and other materials 
  • Creating formwork for concrete footers and structures 
  • Inspecting and replacing damaged framework or fixtures 
  • Following blueprints and building plans to meet project requirements

Our Accelerated Skills Training (AST) programs are designed to help students gain industry-recognized certifications and job-ready skills in a matter of weeks. This streamlined approach is ideal for individuals looking to quickly transition into a new field or advance their career in a short timeframe.

This comprehensive, hands-on training program provides an emphasis on safety, technical skill development, leadership, and the technology fueling today’s workforce demands. Our program follows the nationally recognized National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) framework, ensuring comprehensive training in essential carpentry skills. The curriculum is designed to provide valuable credentials that meet industry standards and employer needs. 

* Includes 12 hours of online content within the total contact hours

Upon successful completion, students will be eligible to earn: 

  • NCCER Core Curriculum 
  • NCCER Carpentry Level I 
  • NCCER Cabinetmaking 
  • NCCER Site Safety
  • Rigging/Signal Person 
  • Fall Protection 
  • OSHA 10 
  • May also be eligible for college credits toward an AS Degree in Construction/Civil Engineering Technology OR an AS Degree in Supervision & Management for Industry 

Enrollment Requirements 

  • Must be 18 years of age by course completion 
  • Ability to read and speak conversational English 
  • Reading & Math proficiency of 8th grade or higher
