Course Description

This 40-hour course provides officers with an understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence, what it looks like in their community, and the short and long-term effects on officers, their profession, family, friends, and community; to provide officers investigating a domestic violence incident with the resources to respond to the scene safely, in a trauma responsive way that will allow them to gather sufficient information that will stand independent from victim testimony, and provide appropriate victim rights and services to keep the victim safe.
