Course Description

This 40-hour course is designed to provide an overview of the skills needed to resolve a situation involving a hostage taker, barricaded subject, or suicidal individual. This course provides instruction on the topic of hostage and crisis negotiations at a fundamental level and, when combined with previous experience, will enable the student to successfully respond to an incident.

Note: All agencies within Orange County should be registered 30 days prior to the starting date of class. Registration will open for all agencies outside Orange County 30 days prior to the class start date. Equipment (if necessary): Note-taking materials.
