Course Description

This 40-hour course is designed for law enforcement to cover all aspects of field training and evaluation programs for new hires. Students will be introduced to current methods of evaluation and documentation necessary to successfully complete the training period. Topics covered will include adult learning, motivation, leadership, counseling techniques, FTO role; legal and ethical issues, communication, and reinforcing desired behavior. Salary or Mandatory. Note: All agencies within Orange County should be registered 30 days prior to the starting date of class. Registration will open for all agencies outside Orange County 30 days prior to the class start date. Equipment (if necessary): Note-taking materials.
