Program Overview & Certifications Earned
Our Accelerated Skills Training (AST) programs are designed to help students gain industry-recognized certifications and job-ready skills in a matter of weeks. This streamlined approach is ideal for individuals looking to quickly transition into a new field or advance their career in a short timeframe.
The Precision Optics, Photonics, and Fiber Optics Technician program is the most accelerated optics training course in the country. Eighty percent of instruction takes place in a hands-on lab, where students learn optics manufacturing, fiber optic testing, laser safety, and system alignment. Students work directly with industry-grade equipment and are taught by experts from local optics companies, building strong employer connections from day one.
* Includes 60 hours of online content within the total contact hours.
Upon successful completion, students will be eligible to earn:
- OSHA 10 General Industry
- Technician in Precision Optics (TPO) – ETA International
- Industrial Laser Safety Officer (LSO) – Laser Safety Certification
- May also be eligible for college credits toward an AS Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology
Enrollment Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Proof of High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
- Read, write, and comprehend English at a 10th-grade level
- For employment purposes – must pass a background check
- For employment purposes – must be a U.S. citizen (for defense-related companies)
- For employment purposes – must pass a vision test
